Lots of eol whitespace at the last added line above.  I usually try to
avoid adding lines with whitespace at the end of one or more lines.

Some lines use 8 spaces instead of tab characters for indentation, but
I can't really see anything gravely wrong about the changes.  Commit
it, please.
