It IS free.  If you buy the CD-ROMs from Walnut Creek you are paying for
the media.  Words are free too - do you pay for books, music CD's or
magazines?  If you want it free, start ftp'ing the source to your machine.  

It is also Free in the sense that you are free to take any of the FreeBSD
code and incorporate it into your work (with appropriate attribution).

Maybe you ought to think about it and actually READ about what you are
getting or trying to get before whining.
