Hi,

I have heard that the Final Committee Draft of Latin-9, FCD 8859-15, is
ready to be voted on within ISO. (If it passes the vote then it'll be
DIS 8859-15. I don't know how long it will take to attain full Standard
status, i.e. ISO 8859-15.)

Latin-9 is the same as Latin-1 with minor exceptions, one of them being
the replacement of the generic Currency character at 0xA4 with the Euro
character, and is intended to be used for all the languages that Latin-1
is currently used for.

See http://www.isoc.org:8080/codage/iso8859/jeuxiso.en.htm (substitute
jeuxiso.de.htm auf Deutche or jeuxisofr.htm en Francaise.)

I have not heard about any changes to related standards, e.g. ISO 2022.
