Got some updates, seems like devel/glib20 COLLATION_FIX breaks it. I've got devel/glib20 WITH_COLLATION_FIX=true , misc/mc options doesn't matter at all. What I do is: 1) rebuild glib20 without COLLATION_FIX 2) run mc 3) it coredumps again, but the point is different and the backtrace seems not to make sence 4) I rebuild mc itself 5) and now it runs perfectly So I make a conclusion that 1) COLLATION_FIX breaks glib20 ABI (?!) 2) the problem is with devel/glib20, not mc
