Define working... :-) Is this the combo card, or just a modem?

: I had it working one time, but my co-worker wiped it out. So, I

: term to see if the modem responds to 'at' command. It doesn't responds at all.
: Plus, when I type 'a', it doesn't show up until I type 't'. Why is that? Same
: thing with 't'. It doesn't show up until I hit 'enter'.

IRQ problem. Almost certainly. There were a few versions of current
just after the smpng merge that exihibited this behavior as well, so
maybe you are unluckily running one of them.
