My other NIC, when I swap ethernet segments, pulls a DHCP offer from the
server using the same cable and cable modem.  It's config information
(currently configured for the private net):

The "OACTIVE" flag on the de0 interface seems to have something to do with
it according to my net research--but noone seems to have a cure.
