Current OS: 2.1.0 FreeBSD Target OS: 2.1.7 FreeBSD Since I wanted to see what kind of /etc 'make world' would build I set DESTDIR to a directory on a filesystem with tons of space. It bombed pretty quickly after creating: bin dev etc lkm mnt proc root sbin sys tmp usr var with the following error message: (after 318 lines of make output) missing: ./ufs/ufs (created) missing: ./vm (created) cd /users/extradir/; rm -f /users/extradir/sys; ln -s usr/src/sys sys cd /users/extradir/usr/share/locale; for l in da_DK de_AT de_CH de_DE en_AU en_CA en_GB en_US es_ES fi_FI fr_BE fr_CA fr_CH fr_FR is_IS it_CH it_IT nl_BE nl_NL no_NO pt_PT sv_SE ; do rm -f $l.ISO_8859-1; ln -s lt_LN.ISO_8859-1 $l.ISO_8859-1; done rm: da_DK.ISO_8859-1: is a directory *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. Question: Would I have the same problem if I did a regular make world without $DESTDIR? The problem is that the machine is remote (60 miles away) so If I Screw Up we're down until Monday afternoon. At the same time we're a little nervous because we were cracked last week. Thanks! later, david -- David Hawkins -- dhawk@river.org Do you know what a pessimist is?
