Moinmoin, I have a SCSI disk currently formatted at 256Bytes/sector. I can't change this to 512 bytes/sector, because a) scsi(8) refuses to work with it at all b) I tried 'scsiformat -p d -w', and it formatted without error message. However, the disk was still 256 Bytes/sec afterwards. Running 'scsiformat -p d' shows that the default configuration is in fact 512 bytes/sector and only the user-setable one is 256 bytes/sector. It looks to me scsiformat ignores '-p d' or is otherwise uncapable of doing this. Maybe I have to set the user-settable mode sense page to what I want first? If so, how, if scsi(8) refuses to work with the disk? Could someone tell me how to escape here? Is there somethis I could check about scsiformat to actually use the manufacturer's defaudlts, or can I make scsi(8) make work with this disk?
