Well I certainly don't get any disk full errors and df says I have a bit
of space left also. I'm not confident I wont be out of disk space if the
decompressions works but I don't think that is the problem I'm hitting now
as even zcat stops at 300 or so MB.

It comes up as OK.

Well I will definitley run out of space when decompression succeeds but
I'm only interested in part of the file so zgrep should hopefully save me.
