thanks john for pointing that out; after reading your message, google
search results showed that everybody else (mostly linux users w/ dell
i5000e) also have the same problem and people are waiting for dell 
blessed bios.

by the way, i was thinking of complaining to dell, can you, or anybody
else for that matter, help me as how to formulate the request/whine
about getting a bios update?
