I called Zeos, and they say that the OS's IDE driver should turn power management off if it does not want it on. This certainly seems like a good idea for any UNIX system. Incidentally, OS/2, for all its faults, DOES keep the drive running continuously. It must know how to keep it from spinning down. --Brett
