Hello.

I am going to upgrade a FreeBSD server. The old server has 2.2.2 installed
and the new one will have 3.2. I want to just copy the files in the home
directories, and the users should notice and difference.=20

I think I could just tar the /home, master.passwd and group files onto a
DAT tape, and untar it on the new system, but it seems like the standard
uids are different on the two versions of FreeBSD.

Any hints or suggestions on this kind of operation?

TIA,
=09Jakob Alvermark
