	I may not be right, but:
	I think there may not be an entry for 3C589D card in the
	/etc/pccard.conf (in the boot floppy)
	Couldn't you try out with other ethernet cards?

	There's no big difference between Libretto 30(Japanese) and
	Libretto 50 (regardless of US/Japanese).
