Subject: UFS on extended partition?

Is it possible to create a UFS file system in a --- what is
called an "extended partition" in dos-speak?

In other words, I want to make a BSD "slice" out of a so called
extended partition. Yes, I know I can take the free space out of
the DOS extended partition and create a slice on it, but I'm
curious.

Any hints/links/RTFMs appreciated.
