I've put a new sys/newnfs kernel subtree up, that I think might be fixed for the deadlock race. (It also has all the functions ANSI'fied, etc.) It is ftp://ftp.cis.uoguelph.ca/pub/nfsv4/nfsv4-newnfs-FreeBSD6.0-BETA1.tar.gz. Hope it works better for you, rick
