The following reply was made to PR ports/74233; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Geoff Buckingham <Geoff.Buckingham@reuters.com> To: freebsd-gnats-submit@freebsd.org, geoff.buckingham@reuters.com Cc: Subject: Re: ports/74233: ntfsclone (sysutils/ntfsprogs) broken Date: Wed, 24 Nov 2004 08:59:05 +0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------_=_NextPart_001_01C4D203.D9DCA52D Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable The application attempts to lock the device special file (here /dev/da0s1) with fcntl, this obviously works in Linux, and the netbsd pkg_src patches don't change that behaviour, so I assume it also works there. Should fcntl work here? I have had a quick look and some the base OS tools and can't find an example of its use in this context. -------------------------------------------------------------- -- Visit our Internet site at http://www.reuters.com Get closer to the financial markets with Reuters Messaging - for more information and to register, visit http://www.reuters.com/messaging Any views expressed in this message are those of the individual sender, except where the sender specifically states them to be the views of Reuters Ltd. ------_=_NextPart_001_01C4D203.D9DCA52D Content-Type: text/html; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <HTML> <HEAD> <META HTTP-EQUIV=3D"Content-Type" CONTENT=3D"text/html; charset=3Dus-ascii"> <META NAME=3D"Generator" CONTENT=3D"MS Exchange Server version 6.0.6521.0"> <TITLE>Re: ports/74233: ntfsclone (sysutils/ntfsprogs) broken</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <!-- Converted from text/rtf format --> <BR> <P><FONT SIZE=3D2 FACE=3D"Arial">The application attempts to lock the devic= e special file (here /dev/da0s1) with fcntl, this obviously works in Linux,= and the netbsd pkg_src patches don't change that behaviour, so I assume it= also works there.</FONT></P> <P><FONT SIZE=3D2 FACE=3D"Arial">Should fcntl work here?
