I don't have the problem with gnome-terminal that much, but it just sometime
will use a lot of CPU and slow. I don't have to hit ^C or kill it, since
Gnome 2.1.x. Until, mplayer-skins updated today and now is giving me the
problem by freeze up, so I had to kill it. mplayer-skins have the 'dos gui'
to select the options what you want to install. gnome-terminal/vte just
finally happened to hate it.

Can you try to go there and do the 'make' to see if it will kill your
gnome-terminal?

You mean, scroll back to the top?
