It's so "good" working USB subsystem in FreeBSD. Are you using 6.x or 7.x? I had have discussed this issue recently - for my 6,3-STABLE I _must_ _each_ _boot_ re-plug keyboard to detect it. ROFL. And, of course, USB mouse do not work. Last time I see, how to increase filling of mails with similar questions - "my mouse does not detected", "why I should replug device" and so on. And each time I have receive answers, that it's free OS, like to do good - do it yourself and similar, that's USB subsystem works good and mouse isn't required for server, etc. What a pity.
