On a 4.0-STABLE system (CVSuped on 2000/06/28), I have

ed0 at port 0x300-0x31f iomem 0xd8000 irq 9 drq 0 on isa0
ed0: supplying EUI64: 00:40:33:ff:fe:92:98:1d
ed0: address 00:40:33:92:98:1d, type NE2000 (16 bit) 

It worked with 4.0-RELEASE before I did a make world.

I think you have to set right IRQ and port.
Usually, for an ISA ether card, we have to specify different port if
we change its IRQ.
