No specific support for this is in the ft driver.  the ft driver,
alas, is badly bitrotted and people have reported problems with it.
It might work, it might not.

IDE tape drives have some preliminary support in the kernel, thanks to
Soeren Schmidt.  Given their price ($169 for a 4G Travan IDE drive
from www.corpsys.com), they are very competitive to the Dittos in
terms of cost.
