On 2001-09-12, David W. Chapman Jr. scribbled:

# Don't allow read access to your incoming folder. Most people will
# upload a test upload to check for speed and make sure they can
# redownload it. I usually end up with gigs of mp3's, but I
# just sort them into another directory in my collection.

Wouldn't it be that _write_ access should be removed from the folder
rather than read access?

To do so, remove the current files under the incoming directory and run:

chmod -R go-w /var/ftp/incoming

Or just delete the directory altogether.
