 It has happened all the way from 5.x to 6.x. The System is an IBM A30p laptop, 
 i386 architecture, Intel Pentium III-Mobile CPU with X.org 6.8.2 and KDE 
 3.4.2.
 
 Tell me what else you need to know. By the way, a friend of mine had the same 
 problem under linux with the same machine but he doesn't own it anymore.
