           Product: Base System
           Version: 12.0-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: ioannis.vranos@gmail.com

Created attachment 201652

=3Dedit
It shows the cp -R directory bug

The command cp -R has a bug when copying.

An example:

cp -R Downloads/ Downloads

works correctly.

cp -R Downloads Downloads

produces a recursive copying, until it reaches some recursion limits.

See the screenshot attached.
