Well, I can ping hosts, anyway.

I tweaked the configuration file the way you described (and as
attached below).

Yes.  Browsing the office LAN didn't work, but I'd put that down
to stuff that I don't understand about Windows name services.

Now that we have a route, I'll do some more playing...
