I would lay odds (but not bet any money :)) that the RealTek is grabbing the IRQ (5 most likely) that the SB wants. That was an old symptom. I don't know how you assign an IRQ to the RealTek. You can look at the dmesg and see what the RealTek is using. You could probably change the jumper on the SB if you can't fix it.
