I used Alta Vista to search for libXExExt and libX11kb. Here are the results. ====================== >From http://www.redhat.com/linux-info/xfree86/3.2/RELNOTES-3.html: As part of the change to X11R6.1, the shared library revisions for libX11, libXaw, libXext, and libXtst have been incremented to 6.1. The client-side library code for the XFree86 extensions and the ScreenSaver extension has been moved into separate libraries. The old libXExExt has been removed. ====================== >From http://gatekeeper.dec.com/pub/X11/R6-contrib/faqs/X11R6-on-SUN-FAQ ld.so problems with R5-compiled apps (SunOS 4.1.3 only) Symptoms: Some applications compiled with R5 dynamically won't run with R6, ld.so barfs about some undefined functions. If you have the R6 libs path before R5 in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and defined the XKB stuff (default), the applications will take some of their shared libs in the R6 pool, except libX11.so.* which doesn't exist anymore, since it's now named libX11kb.so.4.20. This is because the XConsortium has not done a major increase in the SunOS 4.1.x major shared lib number... Fix: Add a symbolical link, from libX11.so.4.20 to libX11kb.so.4.20 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
