If you're running an X server on your Mac (Xorg, XFree86),
then you can use the xmessage(1) tool, with the $DISPLAY
variable set appropriately.  It can even be used to create
simple dialogs (Such as "OK" / "Cancel") that can be used
from shell scripts.
