There was a pretty heated argument some time ago about possible K6 bugs.
If you have a pretty new one you should be beyond the problem.  Check out
the freebsd-hardware mailing list archives at http://www.freebsd.org/ for
full details.  

In any case, the AMD, Cyrix, and Intel processors are supported.
