Assuming it's at least a 386 - I see no problem in running a basic setup of
FreeBSD WITHOUT upgrading it! I wouldn't run X or some of the larger ports
if my life depended on it on that machine - but that's certainly enough for
a command-line.

I bought off of Ebay and old Compaq 524 "all in one" computer, ( 8meg
ram, 450meg hd, with no O/S ). 
Think I could up grade this thing and install FreeBSD?
