Can anyone explain me what this panic means?

ahc0: target 0, lun 0 (sd0) timed out
cd0(ahc0:2:0) BUS DEVICE RESET message queued.
ahc0: target 0, lun 0 (sd0) timed out
ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset #2. 0 SCBs aborted
panic: ahcintr: AWAITING_MSG for an SCB thatdoes not have a waiting message

syncing disks... 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 giving up


This happened on a Pentium PRO with and Adaptec 2940 running FreeBSD
2.1-RELEASE, during a mount of a probably faulty CD-ROM.
