For the education of us folks trying to learn and understand what's going on in the kernel, could I ask you gurus to go into a little bit of detail concerning the effects of this sort of commit? IE: "Fixes a lockup", or "speeds up kernel" or "further reduces need for Giant" kind of things, except with a tad more detail.
