            Bug ID: 230648
           Summary: databases/mariadb103-server: error-log=3D/path/filename
                    is not honored
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: brnrd@freebsd.org

I just installed the latest mariadb103-server-10.3.8_2 via ports in a fresh
11.2 jail and wanted to change the log file from the datadir to /var/log/. I
created a my.cnf file in /usr/local/etc/my.cnf and put the
[mysqld]
log-error=3D/var/log/mariadb.log
however, the variable log_error inside mariadb did not change (other config
variables worked) with global_value_origin =3D=3D CONFIG
I had to move the my.cnf to the datadir, there it did work.
there are no other my.cnf files on the server.
