Also cross check the filesize and date; soebody may have tried to trojan-horse you by replacing your /usr/bin/login and is waiting for you to fix the perms on it so it can start doing it's business. My date is wrong, so don't use that as a standard. I copied the fielsystem and it updated the timestamp.
