You should be thanking the XFree86 people, they did that work.

Your video memory is being corrupted.  There isn't much we can do for you
other than blindly type 'clear' and hit enter to clear the screen.  That
might do something for you.  Or try

vidcontrol VGA_80x25

You should contact xfree86@xfree86.org regarding this problem.
