It is *not* Netherlands, it is "the Netherlands".
Translated from the (old) Dutch 'de Nederlanden'.
Today we say 'Nederland' which would translate into 'Netherland'
(so no trailing 's' ) but that is not the correct English translation.

I don't have an iso3166 standards doc, but it is *wrong*.
