Hello, although your idea sounds OK, we do not update the 8.x branches
after they had been released unless it's for security. So that means
that indeed 8-STABLE (RELENG_8( will receive these updates but not
8.0,8.1 etc. (unless it's a new version and the releng_8 version is
already OK). You can however always merge the 8_stable information to
your local system and update it, as you mention in your report. Thank
you for the report and trying to make freeBSD beter
