And then take a long, hard look at what is going on with the machine. I suspect that your machine has been cracked by somebody who is not very familiar with FreeBSD. It could of course be something else but I wouldn't count on it. There were several security holes in 4.1 that have since been fixed, but if the machine hasn't been upgraded, or at least had security patches applied it is vulnerable.
