searches on google haven't turned up much, other than linux-oriented changes. most of them note something about scsi-adapter emulation, though.. does freebsd have support for something like this, or could i possibly create a symlink from a scsi device to something like acd0c or acd1c? failing that, what do i need to do to be able to use an atapi cd-r/cd-rw? burncd, from outward appearances, seems to have fairly junky support for drives, and apps like cdrecord seem to only support scsi drives. program issues aside, is there anything i'd need to change as far as permissions, kernel config, etc, to make it work? any help here is much appreciated, since i really need to be able to make backups of some kind without sending them to another machine on our home network. if it helps at all, i'm currently using an hp cd-writer plus 8100. - erik To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
