>Description:
I noticed I couldn't reduce the backlight with the laptop shortcut keys (Fn ->, Fn <- in my case).

so I tried xbacklight and get this:

xbacklight -get
No outputs have backlight property

acpi_video is loaded but doesn't make a difference and I also don't see any sysctl's that might be related to brightness or even "lcd".

I can change birghtness while in the bios screen, which is only a few secs.
