You are looking for the 'sysutils/portupgrade' port. It installs a tool
called pkg_deinstall.

So to achieve what you described, you would run 'pkg_deinstall -R A' 
and it would deinstall 'A' and any of its "orphaned" dependencies, ie.
B, C, D but not E.
