I have a Toshiba Satellite 205CDS laptop, and am running FreeBSD 2.2.2-RELEASE. I'm having some trouble getting the sound card configured properly. I've now gotten things to the point where I can do a cat testfile.au > /dev/audio and have it play, but when I try things like the RealAudio player, I get only static from the speakers. This laptop has an ESS AudioDrive sound chipset. The kernel configuration I'm using looks like: controller snd0 device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 10 drq 1 vector sbintr device opl0 at isa? port 0x388 conflicts options SBC_IRQ=10 and when the system boots, I get the following: sb0 at 0x220 irq 10 drq 1 on isa sb0: <SoundBlaster Pro 3.1> opl0 at 0x388 on isa opl0: <Yamaha OPL-3 FM> Does anyone have any suggestions, pointers, or other places I should be looking? This is the only thing that's still not working since I moved from Linux to FreeBSD, and it's getting a bit frustrating. Thanks in advance. /MC -- Matthew Cravit, N9VWG | Experience is what allows you to E-mail: mcravit@best.com (home) | recognize a mistake the second mcravit@taos.com (work) | time you make it.
