I'm getting it, too. When starting XFree. It seems that XFree has
problems when I restart it. Sometimes it stays in graphics mode
where I can reboot by pressing <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Entf>,
later XFree gets killed, I can see my text terminal again
and the shutdown is clean.

World, kernel and nvidia driver have all been compiled on this date:
