Configured with: FreeBSD/i386 system compiler Thread model: posix gcc version 3.3.3 [FreeBSD] 20031106 >Description: The latest Linux 2.4/2.6 bug as described on http://linuxreviews.org/news/2004-06-11_kernel_crash/ also effects some FreeBSD 5.2 systems. The exploit lets FreeBSD reboot spontaneously. This has been confirmed from three people in #freebsd.de on Quakenet. Affected are at least boxes running 5.2.1-RELEASE-px and 5.2-CURRENT (approx. 1 week old). However not all systems running these versions seem to be affected. >How-To-Repeat: As user or root: Compile http://linuxreviews.org/news/2004-06-11_kernel_crash/crash.c.txt or http://linuxreviews.org/news/2004-06-11_kernel_crash/krnl-1.c.txt with gcc and execute the resulting binary. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
