Not recognised how? If you mean that there's no listing for that type
of card in the kernel configurator screen at the beginning of the
install, then you may be in luck. Only ISA/EISA cards are shown in
that screen. More modern PCI or PCCARD devices that can identify
themselves to the kernel need no manual setup in order for the system
to detect and configure them.

I looked at LinkSys's site, but I couldn't see a model called the "Len
10/100TX". Did you mean the LNE100TX
(http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=34&prid=31)? If
that's the case then that card should be autodetected and work very
well with FreeBSD using the dc(4) or de(4) driver. Just charge ahead
with the install --- if you're doing a network install, you'll be
given the option to configure a an ethernet interface fairly early on,
otherwise you can jump to the "Emergency Holographic Shell" (Alt-F4 I
think) and use 'ifconfig -a' to list the known network interfaces,
either of which should confirm that the OS has found the NIC.

If your card still doesn't appear, then, yes, substituting an
alternative NIC probably is your best move

	Matthew
