  It completed "make buildworld" with DC390U/F!!  

It seems very stable now.  Also, the completion time of "make 
buildworld" was about 78% of that of without "softupdate", so 
it must be working.

  Isn't it possible to be because of the implementation detail
differences of drivers (Adaptec 2940U/W vs. DC390U/F<ncr53c875>)?
