Hi,
Can anyone help me figure out the difference between these two? I mean what
happens behind the scenes.

Actually the problem is for some ports I can see that turning
USE_PYDISTUTILS=easy_install to USE_PYDISTUTILS=yes seems to throw an
exception like the following:
running setopt
Writing setup.cfg
running setopt
Writing setup.cfg
usage: setup.py [global_opts] cmd1 [cmd1_opts] [cmd2 [cmd2_opts] ...]
   or: setup.py --help [cmd1 cmd2 ...]
   or: setup.py --help-commands
   or: setup.py cmd --help

error: option -s requires argument
*** Error code 1

Thanks in advance.

BR,
Muhammad
