Here is what I found about NetBSD (ok I couldn't wait for tomorrow):

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/textproc/saxon/README.html
	--> Saxon is built from source

Anyway there are very few Java library ports in NetBSD. At least I
didn't find many.

Some other Java ports:

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/textproc/xp/README.html
	--> built from source

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/time/cardboard-schedule/README.html
	--> built from source

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/pkgsrc/databases/java-db3/README.html
	--> built from source

It does not necessarily mean that every Java port is built from source
but from what I've seen so far...

Herve
