Subject: mpd-netgraph on minimal install not working.

I've not been able to get mpd-netgraph to work as a PPTP VPN server on a
minimal freebsd 4.3-Release install.

A minimal install with mpd 3.2 installed from the packages appears to work
fine when configured. no errors in log files etc, however, nmap of the
machine doesn't even show port 1723 as being available. The system has no
firewall in place and is using the generic kernel configuration.

I've instaled mpd-netgraph and configured it for use as a PPTP VPN server on
the standard 'developer' install configuration of freebsd with complete
success.

What have I missed.

TIA
