I would suggest that the build would likely fail if you try to compile squid against ports/packages openssl, which is a likely scenario for freebsd user= s as the base openssl is older with fewer features. It may also fail if you com= pile against libressl or any of the other ssl implementations available in the p= orts tree. I am not the original poster, I am simply providing you with additional information.
