This would give us the benefits of a centralized configuration file, without the need of rewriting the many programs that really want to have their configuration in specific files. On the other hand, this would require a reprocessing of the file for each modification to the configuration. Maybe we could run the command at the beginning of /etc/rc, and allow a user with root privileges to rerun the command at any time to rescan the configuration? It would require a minimum of effort to implement this, so I hope this is not too simple for us. Regards --- Erik H.
